Why Art Spice? Art Spice refers to the spicy “feeling” (excitement, pleasure) that ART gives to the observer. As an analogy; when someone likes plain food -no color or very neutral colors-, to someone who likes to try different exotic foods with that spicy flavor -rich colors and textures. Also, you can relate to a cooking spice; if you like pumpkin you might want to add “pumpkin spice” to a particular dish. With my Still Life paintings I want to transmit to the observer my love for color and nature's perfection. I observe all the colors, shapes and textures of the objects that surround us and try to create still life paintings that are realistic, done for the most part in oil pastel technique, as I love to work with these solid pieces of color that give me a
chance to work on the texture and imitate Natures´ rich colors and forms. I also work with other techniques -depending on the object(s) or project- like Soft Pastels, Oils and Acrylics. Each painting is unique in composition as I focus on bringing the richness of the the object itself, it´s color and texture, to a simple piece of paper. For each painting you will find the complete description of the piece; technique in which it was done, dimensions, year that was created and a brief description of what it was inspired by.
So, I hope you experience a “spicy” feeling when you see the “objects” imprinted on a paper and remember that an object that seems simple (like an apple), is a complex form of Nature and is so rich in color, texture and form. Is the art of Nature.
